Abramoff Scandal
Abramoff investigation looks at Tom DeLay's wife

Federal Bureau of Investigation agents are asking questions about the wife of former Congressman Tom DeLay, The Wall Street Journal reports.

The FBI wants to know whether Christine DeLay was being paid $3,200 a month without doing any work. Christine DeLay received the money from Alexander Strategy Group, a lobbying firm run by a former Abramoff associate who has pleaded guilty to defrauding tribes.

Christine DeLay also received money from one of DeLay's fundraising committees, whose officers were located at Alexander Strategy, whose clients reportedly included the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians.

DeLay resigned from Congress amid legal scrutiny over his dealings with Abramoff and after he was indicted in Texas for violating state election laws.
