The Forest County Potawatomi Tribe of Wisconsin makes most of its money from its casino in downtown Milwaukee but other businesses are part of the picture as well.
In the last year alone, the tribe's business development corporation has doubled its asset value, Wisconsin Public Radio reports. The tribe's holdings include a Washington, D.C., hotel, a biotech firm in California, an ethanol plant in Iowa and an information technology firm near the reservation.
Kip Ritchie, the vice president of the business development corporation, it's unwise to rely solely on gaming.
