Tribal leaders are in Washington, DC, this week for Indian health care events.

Starting today and continuing through Thursday, the Department of Health and Human Services is hosting the 8th annual national tribal consultation session. The meeting takes place at HHS headquarters [Office of Tribal Affairs].

On Thursday morning, HHS is hosting the National Tribal Pandemic Influenza Summit. The goal is to discuss how tribes can be included in pandemic flu efforts [HHS Pandemic Flu Site].

Also on Thursday, the Alaska Native Tribal Health Care Consortium, the Center for Telehealth & E-Health Law National Indian Health Board and the National Congress of American Indians are hosting the first summit on Improving Native American Health through Telehealth and Emerging Technologies.
