Of the 34 urban Indian health clinics, 17 of them will most likely close if they lose funding under President Bush's latest budget.

Bush is seeking to eliminate the $34 million urban Indian health program. The White House claims urban Native Americans can seek care at other types of facilities. But health advocates, backed by key members of Congress, say that's highly unlikely.

The 34 clinics are located in 21 states. They served more than 106,000 urban Indians last year, according to the Associated Press.
