The Omaha Tribe of Nebraska and the Department of Veterans Administration will sign a telemedicine agreement on Thursday.
The deal will allow doctors at VA facilities in Omaha and Lincoln to provide services to Native veterans on the Omaha Reservation. The system will be up and running around May 1.
According to The Sioux City Journal, 500 Native veterans live in Thurston County, home to the Omaha Reservation and the Winnebago Reservation.
