A powwow will be held on the Crow Reservation in Montana to honor Native veterans of the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marines.
The event starts today with a 5-mile run and 2-mile walk. Crow Chairman Carl Venne will lead a ceremony to honor World War II and Korean War veterans. Later, a feast for veterans and the grand entry for the powwow to honor Army veterans will be held.
On Saturday, the Mandan, Hidatsa and Arikara Nation of North Dakota will participate in a flag-raising. Grand entries for the powwows in honor of Air Force and Marine veterans will be held.
The powwow concludes on Sunday with a final grand entry for the powwow in honor of Navy veterans.
