The Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians is experiencing a revival on its reservation in North Carolina.

Tribal members are moving back home, new businesses are sprouting up, and the tribe has launched a number of economic, cultural and technological initiatives. "We want to establish ourselves as the cultural center for Native Americans in the Southeast," Mary Jane Ferguson, the director of marketing for the tribe, told Asheville Citizen-Times.

The growth is being fueled by the tribe's successful casino. With gaming revenues, the tribe is promoting other businesses and funding new projects to bring more tourists to the reservation.
