A reserve in Alberta was hit by a week of gang and drug-related violence, prompting community members to call for the banishment of the troublemakers.
A home invasion, a home bombing, a shooting and a serious assault took place over five days on the Hobbema Reserve, home to four separate First Nations. Also, a group of eight youth were arrested after they were spotted carrying guns, machetes and bats.
Tribal leaders blame the violence on drugs and gang activity that has hit the reserve over the last few years. "It's gang warfare," said a Samson Cree Nation spokesperson.
