Four men who are said to have ties with a Native gang in Saskatchewan are awaiting a verdict on attempt murder charges.

The men accused of shooting 30-year-old Garnet Ponace last September are said to be linked to the Native Syndicate, a street gang in Regina, a city with large Native population. A witness who used to belong to the gang testified against the men charged with the crime.

Native gang activity is on the rise in urban and rural communities across Saskatchewan, according to law enforcement officials.
