Firm donates mobile homes to Oglala Sioux Tribe

A Colorado home building firm has donated more than 20 old mobile homes to the Oglala Sioux Tribe in South Dakota.

The homes would normally be sent to a landfill. But Noel West Lane, the founder of Lane III Group Inc., decided to send them to the tribe instead. He is picking up the entire cost of shipping the homes to the Pine Ridge Reservation and hopes to send more in the future.

The homes are already being put to good use by the tribe. A family with infant twins that had been living in a tent now has a place to live, Lane said.
