House Majority Leader Tom DeLay (R-Texas) isn't the only Republican to have gone on overseas trips linked to disgraced lobbyist Jack Abramoff, The Los Angeles Times reports.
Reps. Bob Ney (R-Ohio) and Tom Feeney (R-Florida) went on separate junkets that included a visit to a golf course in Scotland. Both said the trips were sponsored by the National Center for Public Policy Research.
But Ney and Feeney said they were surprised to learn that the center adamantly denied paying for the trips. They both said Abramoff told them otherwise.
Abramoff had tried to get his tribal clients to finance the trips. The Alabama-Coushatta of Texas ended up contributing $50,000 to Abramoff's charitable foundation, The Times said.
