The non-profit Navajo Boys and Girls Clubs reopened the doors to its clubs on Wednesday after a deal was struck with Navajo Nation President Joe Shirley Jr.

The non-profit agreed to subcontract to the president's office for six months. The deal will allow the clubs to obtain federal funds and keep its charter with the national Boys and Girls Club organization.

Ray Begaye resigned as director of the non-profit but said Shirley had nothing to do with it. But another executive said Shirley pressured Begaye to leave.
