A Republican poll watcher has been accused of vote buying on the Rosebud Sioux Reservation in South Dakota.

The Tripp County auditor said she heard a Paul Brenner, Washington, D.C., area lawyer, tell voters at a satellite voting station they could be paid $10. The auditor's deputy said Brenner was acting in an intimidating manner at the station.

Brenner denied the charges. He said it is the Democrats who are buying votes and he is only investigating.

Bruce Whalen, a Republican tribal member on the Pine Ridge Reservation, has also raised charges of vote buying. Local officials say they haven't found evidence to support the claim.
