The Habematolel Pomo of Upper
Lake await Bureau of Indian Affairs approval of its Class III gaming compact.
The tribe reached the deal last year. It authorizes a casino with up to 750 slot machines and addresses off-reservation impacts of the project.
The tribe broke ground on the $25 million casino but stopped work in February to wait for approval of the compact. Chairwoman Sherry Treppa said she expects work to resume in July.
