A labor union was successful in its third attempt to organize at the casino owned by the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal
Nation of Connecticut.
Engineering employees at Foxwoods Resort Casino under voted 139 to 103 to join the International Union of Operating Engineers.
"The majority has spoken - again," organizer Gary Archer told The New London Day.
The union previously failed because tribal law required a majority of eligible employees to vote in favor of joining.
But the tribe changed its labor law and unions only have to win a majority of the ballots cast in an election.
