Nader joins race for president as an independent

Consumer advocate Ralph Nader (http://www.votenader.org) on Sunday said he was running for president as an independent. Nader ran in 2000 as the Green Party candidate with Native activist Winona LaDuke as his running mate. He did not say whom he has tapped this time around. Some Democrats blame Nader for former vice president Al Gore's loss to President George Bush. Many believe he will spoil the race for the Democratic candidate this year. On Tuesday, voters are going to the polls in Idaho, Utah and Hawaii but the candidates, with the exception of Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-Ohio) haven't paid much attention. Sen. John of Massachusetts and Sen. John Edwards of North Carolina are focusing on the "super primaries" taking place March 2 in 10 states, including California and New York. Get the Story:
