2. POLICY

NAFOA Board Advances Policy Priorities in Washington, DC

Last week, members of the NAFOA Board of Directors were in Washington, DC, to continue advancing NAFOA’s policy priorities. Early in the week, the Board met with Members of Congress and their staff, advocating for the advancement of the Tribal Tax and Investment Reform Act, S. 2022, in the Senate and H.R. 7705 in the House. On Thursday, Chairman Rodney Butler, Board President, and Cory Blankenship, Executive Director of NAFOA, attended a roundtable discussion between officials with the Treasury, the Small Business Administration, the White House, and Tribal entities to discuss advancing Tribal entity applications under the 8(a) program.

Financial Literacy and Education Commission Public Meeting Today

Monday, July 27th, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. ET

The next public meeting of the Financial Literacy and Education Commission (FLEC) will be held today. Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent will chair the meeting.
