Build a solid foundation in grants management best practices by attending Treasury’s three-part webinar series. The sessions are intended to assist Tribal governments in understanding the OMB Uniform Guidance, federal procurement standards, and subrecipient monitoring.

DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY (DOE) 2023 TRIBAL ENERGY WEBINAR SERIES: UNDERSTANDING 48(E) AND ELECTIVE PAY FOR TRIBAL GOVERNMENTS
DOE Webinar on the Low-Income Communities Bonus Credit Program and Elective Pay for Tribal Governments will be held on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, from 1:30 p.m.– 3:30 p.m. ET. Earlier this year, the U.S. Treasury presented funding for Tribes through the historic Inflation Reduction Act as part of the 2023 Tribal Energy Webinar Series.
Since then, there have been many updates and further guidance on the Low-Income Communities Bonus Credit program under Section 48(e) of the Internal Revenue Code and Elective Pay for Tribal Governments.

BUILDING NATIVE COMMUNITIES: FINANCIAL EMPOWERMENT FOR TEENS & YOUNG ADULTS
December 5, 2023 – December 7, 20236363 Taft Street, Hollywood, FL 33024 Building Native Communities: Financial Empowerment for Teens & Young Adults offers expert training from certified instructors with firsthand experience in Native communities, who are committed to empowering Native communities throughout the country. Financial literacy is an essential skill on the path to a healthy financial well-being and vital to building an empowered financial foundation for all Native communities and strong Tribal economies. Our youth need these skill sets to help bridge the gap between being a novice or an expert in financial literacy knowledge, which is the difference between simply understanding how money works and how to spend it, to important life skills like budgeting, developing a spending plan, savings, paying bills, building a nest egg, paying for an education, buying a home, investing, etc. Join us for a two and a half-day, state-of-the-art, interactive instructor training to help Native CDFIs, Tribal communities, and other Native organizations establish and sustain financial education programs tailored for youth in our communities. Registration is FREE for Native Americans and those working within Indian Country.

Under administrative direction of the Executive Office and Tribal Council, the Chief Financial Officer plans, organizes and directs the activities and programs of the Yurok Tribe’s Fiscal Department. The CFO provides expert professional assistance to the Yurok Tribe’s management staff and Council on financial, procurement, risk management including insurance, investments, accounting, relevant policy development, and associated matters.
