Nooksack disenrollees at a crossroads
The Nooksack Tribe’s efforts to expel 306 former citizens reached a new deadline.
The tribe is working to evict more than 60 people from tribal housing. Many of them are children or elders and have few other housing options.
Federal officials express their intention to respect tribal sovereignty, but also request the tribe hold off on the evictions temporarily.
