It looks like the Navajo Nation can finally schedule its presidential election. The Navajo Nation Supreme Court dismissed an appeal that challenged the eligibility of Russell Begaye. The candidate's "unswerving loyalty" was questioned by a rival. “I’m pleased with the decision and thankful for all the supporters who proceeded forward with the campaign because they believed that the courts would take this matter under careful consideration and determine a lawful outcome,” Begaye said in a press release today.

Begaye will face Joe Shirley Jr., a former president. The date for the election hasn't been set but Begaye said it should be held "without further delay." Get the Story:
