Two Navajo lawmakers survive primary challenge in New Mexico





Two New Mexico lawmakers who represent parts of the Navajo Nation won their primary elections on Tuesday.

Sen. John Pinto (D), who represents District 3 , defeated Matthew Tso, also Navajo. Pinto does not have an opponent so far in the general election.

Rep. Ray Begaye (D), who represents District 4, defeated Gary Montoya. Begaye will face Republican Sharon Clahchischilliage, also Navajo, in the general election.
