A Navajo Nation judge dismissed a public intoxication charge against the president of a school board on the reservation.

Central Consolidated School District Board President Matthew Tso was charged after tribal police found him and a 20-year-old male inside a car in Shiprock, New Mexico. Police said he had been drinking on the dry reservation -- although a blood alcohol test was never performed.

"Now that this case is over with, now that it's done, it will allow me and the district to move forward and get the work of the district done," Tso told The Farmington Daily Times. "I hope to put this in the past and move forward."

Tso is a legislative analyst for the Department of Diné Education and is a member of the San Juan College Board of Trustees.
