Eastern Cherokees to hold inauguration ceremony on October 3

The
Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians
in North Carolina will hold an inauguration ceremony and an inaugural ball on October 3.
Michell Hicks won re-election to a third term as chief. Larry Blythe was also re-elected for a third term.
The ceremony takes place at 10am in the Council Fire Ballroom at the
Harrah’s Cherokee Casino & Hotel
. The ball, a first for the tribe, takes place in the evening.
