Michell Hicks won re-election as chief of the
Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians
in North Carolina.
Hicks defeated Patrick Lambert. The tally was 2,124 to 1,989, according to unofficial results reported by The Asheville Citizen-Times.
Hicks will be serving a third term.
