Kristi Noem, the Republican candidate for South Dakota's sole seat in the U.S. House, wants to repeal the national health care reform law.
But Noem says the Indian Health Care Improvement Act should remain intact. Congress included IHCIA as part of the overall reform package.
Rep. Stephanie Herseth Sandlin, who is running for re-election, co-sponsored the IHCIA as a standalone bill. She voted against the health reform law because she says it is flawed but she does not think it should be repealed.

Attorney General Marty Jackley is part of a lawsuit that says some portions of the law are unconstitutional. The Great Plains Tribal Chairmen's Association says the lawsuit is an attack on the IHCIA.
