The Associated Press declared Rep. Don Young (R-Alaska) as the winner against Democrat Ethan Berkowitz.
The latest tally shows Young with 50 percent of the vote, compared to 45 percent for Berkowitz. But Berkowitz said he wasn't ready to concede the race.
Young is the top Republican on the House Natural Resources Committee, which has jurisdiction over Indian issues, and has advocated for tribal gaming and Alaska Natives. His wife is Alaska Native.
Young has faced questions about his ethical practices and is reportedly under federal investigation.
