"It is reminiscent of the good old days, I presume, as Sen. John McCain headed out across the country on the last day of his campaign. He began in Florida and ended in his home state of Arizona. My state of New Mexico was one of the stops.
He came yet again to Roswell to rally voting New Mexicans. I was proud as I listened to his words of strength in our country. He spoke of being an American and the fighting to the end. This is a man that we have to be proud of. No matter what your vote, McCain is quite a shining example of a soldier to his beloved America. I was so proud of our country today as I listened to his speech.
He also spoke of jobs, a better economy and regaining a strong American reputation abroad -- all things that we need. This man sounds like he has the plan to get the job done. He joked of having won the alien endorsement. The speech was in Roswell so why not? All laughed at the reference. There were good spirits in the air.
He spoke of the thing that is close to my heart -- Native American issues. I was thrilled that this was mentioned, as I worked for years on the Native American reservations to help the children there. He pointed out that his opponent does not understand Native Americans. McCain spoke also of the water issues of our lands here. The scarcity and the need for change in that as well. McCain talked about issues New Mexicans needed to hear. I was pleased to share this last moment with McCain."
