Former South Dakota governor Bill Janklow (R), who was convicted of second-degree manslaughter in 2003, pleaded guilty for hitting a parked car in Sioux Falls.
Janklow left the scene and said he didn't realize he hit the car. Witnessed told police a different story.
Janklow was forced to resign his seat in the U.S. House for his manslaughter conviction. As governor, he frequently clashed with tribes on sovereignty, jurisdiction and sacred sites.
