The Soboba Band of Luiseno
Indians is hosting a forum on Public Law 280 on Monday.
The tribe called the forum after clashing with the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.
The tribe and the sheriff don't agree about the extend of the law, which grants criminal and civil jurisdiction to the state.
The tribe says it must be notified whenever deputies want to enter the reservation. The sheriff claims his officers can go there whenever they like.
The forum will hear from experts on the law but Sheriff Stanley Sniff has said he won't attend.
