The Soboba Band of Luiseo Indians expanded its law enforcement services agreement with Riverside County, California.
The agreement was the first of its kind in the county. It authorizes sheriff's deputies to patrol the reservation and enforce the law for Indians and non-Indians alike.
The tribe pays the county $387,000 year for two deputies. The expansion will increase that number to five at an additional cost of about $115,000.
