FBI and BIA establish tribal crime hotline

The Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Bureau of Indian Affairs have created a toll-free hotline to report crimes on Indian land and crimes against Native Americans.

The number, 1-877-658-7423, will be staffed 24 hours a day and seven days a week. The goal is to make sure crimes that occur on Indian land and against Native Americans are investigated.

Oklahoma is the first state to use the hotline. Other states might be added.
