Saginaw Chippewa Tribe marks victims' rights week

The Saginaw Chippewa Tribe of Michigan is observing National Crime Victims' Rights Week.

The tribe held a ceremony on Monday to offer support for victims of crime. Other observances will be held all week and the tribe will plant a tree to honor victims on the reservation.

Of the 111 criminal cases in tribal court this year, about half involve victimization. Many are domestic violence cases.
