The Oglala Sioux Tribe of South Dakota will bring in an independent panel of three judges to review the most recent election.
President John Yellow Bird Steele won the election. But he says former President Alex White Plume shouldn't have been removed from the ballot over an old felony on his record.
Steele said he is willing to face White Plume in a new election if the three-judge panel calls for one. White Plume claims he is the president, although the Bureau of Indian Affairs recognizes Steele.
