Fire Thunder: 'At times I feel like George Bush'

Cecilia Fire Thunder, the first woman president of the Oglala Sioux Tribe, says the attacks on her leadership come with the territory.

"Are there factions that want to get me out of office? Yes," Fire Thunder tells KOTA News. "You know, at times I feel like George Bush. I feel like a Republican President and my Council Republican and Democrats. No matter what you say or what you do, you will be scrutinized very closely."

Fire Thunder is facing a second call for her removal from office. Critics say she illegally approved a $38 million loan, intimidated tribal elders and has overstepped her boundaries. The complaint will be considered at a council meeting next week.
