The Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community of Minnesota has donated $500,000 to the St. Francis Regional Medical Center.
The money will help the center improve health care services. The hospital is undergoing a $40 million expansion.
Separately, the tribe donated 21 Automatic External Defibrillators, worth about $21,300, to 10 schools, police departments and organizations. The AEDs are life-saving devices for people who have suffered heart attacks.
