The Mid-America All-Indian Center in Wichita, Kansas, is holding the sixth annual Trail of Tears Memorial Walk on Saturday.
The one-mile march from the Wichita Indian United Methodist Church to the center honors those who were forced to walk the Trail of Tears. Members of all tribes the public are invited to participate.
The walk will be followed by a health fair at the center. Participants can receive diabetes screening, blood pressure checks, vision screening, organ health screens, HIV testing and preventive health education.
