The Shakopee Mdewakanton Dakota Community of Minnesota donated $25,000 to a free health clinic in the Minneapolis area.
The St. Mary's Health Clinic primarily serves low-income residents without insurance or medical assistance. "We believe everyone should have access to health care. We are happy to be able to help," said Shakopee Chairman Stanley Crooks.
The tribe donated $25,000 to the clinic in 2003 and $35,000 in 2005.
