A female student who lied about an attack at a high school on the Navajo Nation had been expelled, The Gallup Independent reports.
The paper identified the student as Lacey Cleveland and said she was a former senior at Ganado High School in Ganado, Arizona. Her age was not published. She is the daughter of Cornfields Chapter Vice President Morgan Cleveland Sr.
Cleveland may face tribal charges for lying about being attacked in a bathroom with knives and a gun. Her report led to lockdown of the school and caused media speculation about a potential hostage situation.
