A student at a high school on the Navajo Nation has admitted she lied about being threatened with a gun and knives.

The female student's report prompted a lockdown of the Ganado High School in Ganado, Arizona. Media reports swirled of armed people and potential hostages at the school.

Authorities discovered holes in the student's story and she later admitted to making it up. A tribal investigator said she might face federal charges, but federal officials say it would up to the tribe to prosecute the case.
