The Golden Hill Paugussett Tribe of Connecticut is seeking back rent and damages as part of its land claim.
The tribe filed the claim 13 years ago. It was put on hold pending the resolution of the tribe's federal recognition petition.
After two attempts, the Bureau of Indian Affairs rejected the tribe. The decision is final.
The tribe is recognized by the state of Connecticut and has a small reservation. The tribe claims the state illegally took its land.
