Navajo Nation man placed back on presidential ballot


The Navajo Nation Supreme Court ruled that presidential candidate Vern Roy Lee must be placed back on the ballot.

The Navajo Election Administration removed Lee because he listed an off-reservation residents. But he successfully argued that he lives within the traditional boundaries of the Navajo Nation.

At issue was a conflict between the tribe's election code and Navajo fundamental law. The Supreme Court said there was election code's residency requirement conflicted with fundamental law.
