Members of the Navajo Nation who are participating in the Ride for the Wall stopped in North Carolina to meet with the Lumbee Tribe.
Lawrence Morgan, the speaker of the Navajo Nation Council, and other Navajo riders joined Lumbee Chairman Jimmy Goins in a veterans' memorial service. Goins served two tours in Vietnam.
Morgan said he was glad he made the stop in order to find out more about the Lumbees, the largest tribe east of the Mississippi. The Lumbees are seeking federal recognition.
