Ex-Seminole chief hit with subpoena in Trump case

Jim Billie, the former chief of the Seminole Tribe of Florida, and two of his former allies have been subpoenaed for a lawsuit filed by Donald Trump.

Billie is alleged to have agreed to a gaming deal with Trump. But the tribe went with the Baltimore-based Cordish Co. instead to open the successful Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.

Attorneys for Cordish now want Billie's e-mails, address books and records of any payments he may have received from Trump, The South Florida Sun-Sentinel reported. A former tribal CEO and former tribal employee were also subpoenaed.

Billie, ousted from office 2003 after 23 years, recently reached a settlement with the tribe that bars him from being "disloyal." The tribe says he can't go against the tribe in any court testimony.
