The Seneca Nation says a new bill that bars the shipment of cigarettes and other tobacco products through the U.S. Postal Service violates treaty rights.
Seneca President Barry Snyder Sr. said the bill will have a negative impact on tribal members. He said Senecas will be discriminated against every time they try to ship packages.
Sen. Charles Schumer (D-New York) plans to introduce the measure in the Senate. Another version, H.R.2813, was filed in the House.
