Members of the Navajo Nation are upset with the treatment of an elderly woman by Bureau of Indian Affairs rangers.
Rena Babbitt Lane, 84, says she was assaulted by the three rangers on November 4. She says they are planning to evict her from her home on Hopi land.
The Navajo Nation and Hopi Tribe recently signed an agreement aimed at ending disputes over their land. A bill stalled in the Senate, however, would force the relocation of Navajos from Hopi land.
Navajos met last night in Tuba City to discuss the incident.
