The public school district in Rapid City, South Dakota, has hired a consulting firm to track the progress of Indian students.

The Red Stone Education Group will help the district's Office of Indian Education and supervise the Title VII Indian grant program and a Bush Foundation Grant. John Haas, one of Red Stone's consultant, is a member of the Oglala Sioux Tribe.

To goal of the effort is to improve literacy and math skills and keep Indian students in school. Red Stone will develop a strategic plan for the district's Indian students.
