A 22-year-old men pleaded not guilty in federal court to the murder of a Navy SEAL on the Fort Peck Reservation in Montana.
Gerald Lee Littlehead is charged with one count of felony second-degree murder and one count of felony voluntary manslaughter. He is accused of killing Michael Bell, 22, in a fight outside a bar on the reservation.
Bell, a tribal member, had been visiting family and friends. He was about to be shipped out to Iraq for his second tour of duty.
Littlehead's brother, David Zephier, 29, has been charged in Fort Peck tribal court on attempted murder and complicity charges.
