Brothers charged with slaying of Navy SEAL man

The Fort Peck Tribe has laid murder and complicity to murder charges against two brothers for the stabbing death of Michael Bell, a Navy SEAL who was visiting the reservation before his mission to Iraq.

Gerald Littlehead Jr., 23, and his brother David Zephier, 29, appeared in tribal court on April 13 but information about the charges was only made public yesterday. The men could face federal charges pending an FBI investigation.

Bell was stabbed April 12 during an incident at a bar on the Fort Peck Reservation and later died at a hospital. Law enforcement and people on the reservation are keeping quiet about what may have happened.

Nearly 500 people attended Bell's funeral yesterday. Some of his fellow Navy SEALs came from Hawaii to pay their respects.
