David Safavian, a former Bush administration official accused of lying about his dealings with Jack Abramoff, wrapped up his testimony at his trial on Monday.
Safavian acknowledged he provided "a lot of insight and advice" to Abramoff, The New York Times reported. But he denied he broke ethics rules by going on a trip to Scotland with Abramoff.
The trial was due to wrap up this week but is on recess due to scheduling and other conflicts. Closing arguments are set for next Monday.
