Native man found guilty of gang-related murder

Quinton Lloyd Bitternose, a Native gang member, was convicted on Tuesday of first-degree murder for the 2004 shooting death of Wayne Gerald Friday.

Bitternose and his gang associates killed Friday and dumped his body on a reserve outside Regina. A witness, who also has been charged, said Friday was murdered for messing with the Native Syndicate, a street gang.

Bitternose was acting as his own lawyer. He failed to call any witnesses after the government rested its case.
